OUR ADVENTURE TOGETHER

Our lives have been gently entwined for years. We went to neighboring high schools. Ran in the similar circles after graduation. Even dated some of the same guys. But we never met, even when we kept getting nudges from friends. The faithful day finally came when we crossed paths online and started chatting. Leading to a traditional movie and dinner date and a good night kiss. This kiss sealed the deal. We were hooked on each other and knew that our lives would forever be closer. We were officially engaged a year later and decided on a destination cruise wedding a few years after that.

We love taking trips with friends and family. Cruises help us explore multiple destinations in a single trip. Our adventures have taken us to the tops of mountains and the bottom of the sea. Enjoying the majesty of the planet while we share our lives together. Catch some of our throwback posts of trips we have done or follow along as we explore.

BRANDON

Hey there, I can be a bit of a geek and a nerd, so bear with me if I start going off on a tangent about Dungeons and Dragons or Magic the Gathering. With COVID, I haven't had much of a chance to play either of them, but I look forward to getting back into some gaming groups again soon. When I'm not "geeking out," I tend to be active both physically and altruistically. I put focus into my fitness and health as I plan to be around for the long haul. My non-profit and caring work can vary. I've helped at the local food pantry, raising money for scholarships, and helping in the recovery community as well. I have been blessed with many gifts in life and like to be able to give back where I can.

During COVID, I started practicing on my cooking and if I do say so myself, I've gotten some great recipes under my belt. It's been fun to experiment and try new dishes, even throwing leftovers together to create something unique. There have been a few interesting mistakes that took place that way, but overall, it's been great expanding my cooking skills.  Watch out for posts on some of my new favorite recipes.

I grew up in a big family with 4 children. I had an older brother who passed away in 2009, and I have 2 younger sisters. I’m close with both my mom and dad. Growing up we moved around a lot, so it’s been nice to be stationary for the last 11 years of my life in the same area. I’ve lived in Illinois, Michigan, Arizona, and Texas. It’s been a great adventure seeing different parts of the country.

MICHAEL PAUL

I’m excited for the journey ahead. I enjoy our home life, but also have fun exploring and I have a large support network of friends and family that have helped me throughout my life. My family today is made up of many people who started as just friends, but I now consider them my sisters and brother. When I’m not spending time with Brandon or studying, I love to watch new TV shows, movies, books, and taking weekend trips to new destinations. My favorite shows and movies are usually anything with a strong female lead or something with magic or superpowers.

COVID made it hard to get together with our friends and family for a few years, but it’s been great reconnecting and celebrating those holidays together again. Some of our travels helped us find some new recipes to try on the holidays as well. Especially the new candied apples we found while at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando. The park called them “Sugar Plums”, and we have started making them for holidays this past year.

I grew up an only child and moved around a little, but one of my favorite things growing up was going to a prep school in Oregon. It was on the top of a mountain, and it was magical sitting out and watching the clouds roll through the valleys below. I’ve always pictured my children attending the same school but that will be up to them when they get to that age.
